Day 14 - January 13
Friday the 13th, as Kiefer pointed out first thing this morning. Lucky for us, nothing bad happened.
We woke up early, had breakfast, packed up all our stuff, and headed back to our poolside condo. The drive was about 90 minutes of traffic, but the weather was nice and we didn’t have anywhere else to be!
Today was HOT. Not a lot of wind, which made it feel even warmer. We spent over two hours in the pool with Kiefer — playing catch, splashing, and just messing around. It’s so nice having nowhere to be and just spending time, the three of us.
We ended up having dinner at the restaurant near our condo. Paul and I had surf and turf, and Kiefer had a burger. We kept trying to order the steak rare or medium-rare, but our waitress didn’t speak English and even Google Translate failed us. She just kept saying, “Medium? Medium?” We finally gave up and said, “Yeah, sure — medium.” Apparently, medium here in Panama means gray all the way through. 😬 It did have a nice garlic sauce on it, but the shrimp came out whole! I’ve never had to decapitate a shrimp before. I wasn’t that into it. LOL.
We came home and watched a couple of episodes of Smallville with Kiefer. It’s our new show since finishing Lucifer.
All in all, a slow, relaxing day here in Panama. OH! We booked our sloth excursion for Tuesday next week, and we’re seeing yet another property on Wednesday! I think we’ll also book the Panama Canal one day too. I don’t think Kiefer will be that into it, but TOO BAD! Kid has to do some learning while we’re here! 😂
